Title: Jupiter – Dr John Rogers (Director of the Jupiter Section of the British Astronomical Association)
Synopsis
Jupiter and the Juno mission – Dr John Rogers
The Juno spacecraft has been orbiting Jupiter for two years now, making remarkable discoveries and taking spectacular images. This talk will summarize what we see on Jupiter as amateur observers and what we know of the nature of these phenomena, and what new understanding has come from Juno so far. Then it will focus on the onboard camera, JunoCam, explaining how it is producing such superb closeup images, and how amateurs are collaborating in this imaging campaign.
