Synopsis: Norman will enlighten us on some recent astronomical developments, and a Q&A session, where he will attempt to answer all the ‘hard’ astronomical questions we can throw at him – so get your thinking caps on!

About the Speaker: Norman is of course one of our Societies professional astronomers. Working for the RGO at Herstmonceux, and in the Sierra Nevada, where he undertook observing for 2 years at 8,600ft. He did some spectroscopy but is better known for his work on photometry which has been published many times. Since then he has built and/or designed various large private observatories, and has recommissioned old telescopes. He is a member of the Vincent motorcycle club and undertakes engineering design and build of upgrades for them. He also owns a small boat which he sails in the Med.
