Cosmic Train Wrecks: When Galaxies Collide – Dr Jillian Scudder (University of Sussex)

Jillian is a native of Florida, USA, who completed her undergraduate degree in Minnesota, USA, and her graduate programme in Victoria, Canada.  She has recently joined Sussex as a postdoctoral research fellow, who’s research interests include the study of interacting systems of galaxies, star formation rates, gas phase metallicities, and Active Galactic Nuclei and the interactions between them.  In her spare time, Jillian runs an outreach blog called Astroquizzical http://astroquizzical.com/), which serves as a space for anyone to submit questions about the Universe.
