King Edwards Parade
UPDATE: Apologies but this last event in our current observing season is cancelled due to the current Covid-19 crisis. This is because of the close proximity of observers during an observing session. We will hopefully restart Public Observing events for the next observing season beginning in October later this year.
LOCATION – The Western Lawns.
Free Public Observing on Eastbourne Seafront.
Observing will be on the Western Lawns with members of the Eastbourne Astronomical Society through various society telescopes, and specialised cameras, who will be able to point out and show you some of the night sky delights. Child and ability friendly.
Members are welcomed to come along and bring their own telescopes, and anyone can bring along a telescope if help is required to make best use of it.
The event is of course reliant on the weather – if it is too cloudy or raining observing will not take place – and if there is ice or high winds the event will be cancelled for Health and Safety reasons. We may decant to the Lansdowne Hotel if the weather is inclement.
Wrap up warm if it is a cold evening. Red torches welcomed – white torches and lights not welcomed.
